DirecTV Plus HD DVR (HR22-100)

I had the DirecTivo HR10-250 for a long time and loved it. I was forced to switch to the HR22-100 by DirecTV in order to get the new MPEG-4 content. Niether my wife nor I were happy about the switch and were pretty skeptical of the DirecTV DVR. I have to say that after owning the device for about 10 months now that we are both very happy with it. DirecTV has been consistently updating the software and the HR22-100 has pretty much all the features our old DirecTivo has and more. About the only feature it doesn't have is multi-room viewing and that's supposd to be coming shortly. The user interface is not a "friendly" as Tivo but you get used to it pretty quickly and there are lots of great features. For example, you can hook an external disk drive up to the HR22-100 and it just automatically starts using that as its new storage space. Overall, I'd have to say that we have been pleasantly surprised with the HR22-100 and even though Tivo is supposedly coming out with a new DirecTivo box next year, we probably won't switch back.
