A
ACH Bank Transfers
(Named after the service utilized.) Similar to checks, ACH Bank Transfers move funds to and from your Wigix account and bank account. Transfer of funds will take up to 5 business days to process.
Active Member

Active Member is a registered Wigix member who does an activity in Wigix at least once a week. Activities include buy, bid, sell, update portfolio, writes a blog or on the discussion board or an inquiry, report a bug, etc.

Attribute
A description of an item. For instance, attributes for a car might include: color, number of doors, kind of engine, and brand.
B
Blog
(Also known as a "web log".) A collection of commentary entries by a member, displayed in reverse-chronological order. Also used as a verb, meaning the act of writing and posting such entries.
Buy Order
A statement that you are willing to buy a product in a certain condition and at a certain price. A seller can find your buy order at the product (item detail) page and agree to sell you an item (completing the buy order), or bargain for a different price.
Buyer
A member who engages in the act of buying items through Wigix.

Card Portfolio
A list of trading cards that you currently own. This list is subset of your Portfolio and is automatically compiled by looking at all the items in your Portfolio and grabbing all items that exist in trading card categories. When you add a card to your Card Portfolio, you are actually adding a card to your regular Wigix Portfolio.
Category Expert

someone who has proven exceptional knowledge or experience on a particular subject matter and has been approved by Wigix to take responsibility of a leaf category. A Category Expert is not an employee of Wigix but may be viewed as an independent contractor. He/She has a tenure of 1 year and may retain this status yearly if voted by Wigix members. CEs receive 1% of his/her category's transactional and advertising revenue. Wigix' expectations of its CEs' responsibilities are as follows:

  • If your category is new to our site, Wigix expects you to define and submit category works (attribute template and category structure when applicable) within 2 weeks of appointment.
  • To review, approve or reject SKU submissions by users within 3 days of the submission,
  • To maintain the quality of data in the category and quality of the attribute template,
  • To respond to user queries, and to update the category blog or discussion board at least once to thrice weekly.
Category Path

Category Path is the path each leaf category derived from. For example, the Category Path of an Apple iPod shuffle is as follows:

Child Category
A category that exists one level below another category. For example, a child category of "Home Audio" is "Speakers" ("All Categories > Consumer Electronics > Home Audio > Speakers > Athena Technologies"). See Parent Category.
Complete Orders
Complete Orders are those that have been shipped and marked as "received" by the buyer.
Complete This Page
(AKA "Complete a page") Assign an un-categorized page with a proper category and organize the free-formed information into the appropriate attributes.

Discussion
A series of comments by members pertaining to a single topic. Found in the "Community."
Dividend

When a portion of the advertising and transactional revenues is paid out to Page Owners, the payment is known as a dividend.

Item
An individual instance (owner specific) of a product. Please note that this is different than a "product". There may be multiple items of a single product for sale. See Product.

Label Your Stuff
(Also refered as "Tag your Stuff" and "Photo Tagging") You can identify the products in your uploaded photos. Go to "How to Label Your Stuff" to learn how to label the product items in your pictures. "Tag Your Stuff" is the name of the Facebook Application which shows your labeled photos on your Facebook profile.
Leaf Category
A category that exist at the very end/edge of the catalog tree. This is a category level which has no sub-categories below it. For example, one leaf category is "Athena Technologies" ("All Categories > Consumer Electronics > Home Audio > Speakers > Athena Technologies").

MSRP

(Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) is the sell price suggested to the Retailers by the Manufacturer.

My Wigix Profile
A page viewable by its owner only. Contains your recent activity, wall, lists, orders, and your community (blog and discussion) postings. This is your central point of access to many features available to you as a Wigix member.

Offer (Trade)
Describes a trade of items between two Wigix members. A barter of two or more goods.

Page

Page is an assembly of related data elements such as picture, title, description, and other textual content that collectively provide relevant and meaningful information about a particular thing.

Page Owner

Page Owner is an individual who has been granted a property tenure (or leasehold right) to a page in which he or she is entitled to a share of the underlying advertising and transactional revenues.

Page Rating (aka Page Submission Rating)
A rating (from 1 to 5 stars) given by the reviewing Category Expert regarding the quality of the initial page submission. Your last 50 page ratings are averaged. if your average is 4 or above, then you are given Star Submitter status.
Page Trading

Page Trading is the act of buying and selling a page with the goal of receiving a dividend or making a profit.

Parent Category
A category that exists one level above another category. For example, the parent category of "Speakers" is Home Audio ("All Categories > Consumer Electronics > Home Audio > Speakers > Athena Technologies"). See Child Category.
Pending Orders
Pending Orders are those that have initiated (currently being paid, being shipped, or in transit) but not yet received. Once a buyer receives the item, the order is marked as complete.
Perfect This Page
(AKA "Perfect a page") Supply a page with missing information.
Photo Tagging
See Label your stuff.
Portfolio
A list of products that you currently own.
Product
A general description of items across an single model. See Page.
Public Profile
A page on Wigix about members that includes your recent activity, lists, items for sale, items you want, and your community (blog and discussion) postings. This profile can be set to be viewable by anyone (default), Wigix members, or your friends.

Root Category
A category that exists on the very top (root-level) of the catalog. For example, "Consumer Electronics" and "Automobiles" are root categories, having no parent categories.

Sell Order

Seller

Star Submitter

Storefront
A selling venue which provides Wigix sellers with an easy to use, customizable Web Store. Storefronts offer ways to easily and quickly build, track and categorize their store inventory. A storefront shows only the inventory of the seller that owns it.

Tagging

There are many types of tagging that is available in Wigix. You can mark a product, blog or discussion thread with keywords. This allows for a non-structured, cloud-based association with other products (with the same keyword tag), creating related products. See "How to tag a product".

Taxonomy

Wigix's Catalog is based on a specific technique of classifying products, product names, brands, descriptions, price, etc. We use the framework synonymous to a tree with its root as the master category then subdivided into the trunk, branch then finally the leaf categories. It is at the leaf category that CEs are assigned.

(This is akin to the Ancestor >> Grandparent >> Parent >> Children relationship)

Want
An item that you want to gain.
Want List
A list of trading cards that you want to gain. This list is subset of your Watch List and is automatically compiled by looking at all the items in your Watch List and grabbing all items that exist in trading card categories. When you add a card to your Want List, you are actually adding a card to your regular Wigix Watch List.
Watch List
A list of products that you want to gain or are watching for market value purposes.
Widget
A small line of HTML code that you can embed into your emails or webpages. Wigix widgets can publish Item Detail pages and gives Associates and members "start here" access for their friends and patrons.
Wigician
Members of Wigix who engage in Wigix activities, such as: buying, selling, being a category expert, submitting (or perfecting) product pages, participating in discussion threads, blogging, posting (and labeling) photos, adding to their lists (portfolios, watch lists, or gift registries), tagging products, etc.
Wigix to Wigix Payments
Payment system utilizing the existing balance in your Wigix account.
