What is an Escrow Service?
An escrow service is a licensed business that receives, holds, and sends a buyer's money to a seller according to instructions agreed on by both parties. Once the buyer receives and approves the item from the seller, the escrow service then sends the payment to the seller.
Escrow is available for any purchase, but is recommended for purchases of $500 or more.
Please only use www.escrow.com.
How Does Escrow Work?
1. Buyer and seller agree to terms and decide to use www.escrow.com.
2. Buyer pays www.escrow.com.
3. Seller ships the merchandise and www.escrow.com tracks the shipment.
4. Buyer confirms the receipt and approval of the merchandise.
5. www.escrow.com pays the seller.
Why use Escrow?
Escrow.com reduces the potential risk of fraud by acting as a trusted member third party that collects, holds and disburses funds according to Buyer and Seller instructions.
When to use Escrow?
Escrow is well-suited for items such as automobiles, motorcycles, jewelry, specialized computer equipment, and other high-ticket items. For example, if you are interested in buying a brand new laptop from a new seller on Wigix and do not feel secure with sending money to them, this is a great opportunity to involve Escrow.com
Caution:
If you are a buyer or a seller and choose to pay or be paid through an escrow service, you should only use Escrow.com (www.escrow.com).
There are a lot of fraudulent escrow services, so please use caution if a seller suggests using a service other than www.escrow.com. If the other party insists that you use a specific escrow service and will not accept www.escrow.com as an alternative, please decline the transaction and send an email to customerservice@wigix.com.
Always sign in to www.escrow.com to verify information you have received via email to avoid being deceived by fraudulent emails. Make sure you type the entire address (www.escrow.com). Do not let the browser auto-fill the URL.
If you're a seller, be cautious about buyers claiming to have paid for an item through an escrow service other than www.escrow.com.
There are fees associated with using an escrow. Buyers and sellers should agree before the close of a transaction how the fees will be paid. Escrow.com (www.escrow.com) publishes their fee schedule, along with their accepted methods of payment on their Web site (www.escrow.com).
The automated clearinghouse (ACH) bank transfer is an electronic fund transfer system that banks use to transmit and receive funds without the presence of paper checks. ACH transactions are therefore electronic payment instructions to transfer money into and out of a bank account. This service is only available to bank accounts located in the U.S.
To use ACH, go to "My Wigix > Preferences > Payments and Verification" and verify your bank account in the "ACH" section. These are secured transactions and your information will not be jeopardized.
To verify, Wigix will place one small deposit in your bank account. In an average of 4 business days, check your bank account for the deposit and the verification code. The verification code consists of 4 or more digits (randomly generated). You will need the last 4 digits of the verification code to verify your bank account.
Sample of verification code on a bank statement:
Once verified, you will be able to use ACH in the "Transfer Funds" section in "My Wigix > Account Balance" to deposit and withdraw funds into your Wigix Account.
IMPORTANT: ACH Bank Transfers can take up to 5 business days (Monday through Friday, excluding holidays) to reflect in your Wigix or bank account.
The following is a timeline illustrating the transaction flow from origination to completion.
Day 1: Submission Date - All ACH transactions must be made before 2:00 PM PST in order for them to be processed the next business day. If you make an ACH request on Friday at 4:00 PM PST, this transaction may not be processed until Tuesday the following week.
Day 2: Effective Date - Payment instructions are sent to the customer's bank. If the instruction is to transfer fund from your bank account to your Wigix account, you will see a deduction in your bank account. However, the fund is being held by your bank while in transit to the Wigix's bank account. If the account is closed or is invalid, your bank will send out a rejected item notification to the Federal Reserve which will in turn report it to our ACH processor.
Day 3: Deadline for Returns - All returned items must be communicated to the Federal Reserve by this day. The Federal Reserve will report these items back to our ACH processor.
Day 4: Last Day of Returns - The ACH processor will notify Wigix of all the cleared, rejected, or returned items.
Day 5: Funds Available - If this is an incoming fund into your Wigix account, our bank will confirm the transaction as settled and the funds will become available for your use. If this is an outgoing fund from your Wigix account, you will see a deposit in your bank account on this day. The entire cycle from origination to completion takes about 5 business days.
After listening to member feedback, Wigix has also decided to disable Wigix to Wigix payments. Buyers can still pay through Paypal, Google Checkout and Amazon Payments. Sellers, page owners, CEs and contest winners can still use ACH/eCheck (as well as Paypal, Google Checkout and Amazon Payments) to withdraw their earnings.
If you paid for the item and feel that you are not going to receive your item, we would recommend opening a dispute with the payment processor. We will provide any necessary support to your 3rd party payment service required.
