FAQ > Item Submissions

  1. Is "Submit a Page" the same as "Sell an Item?"

    1. No. "Submit a Page" differs from "Sell an item." By clicking on "Submit a Page" you are NOT submitting an item to sell. (See question #2 to sell an item.) You are submitting a new item page (product information) in the Wigix catalog. Therefore, all the submitted information needs to be general and describe all the models of the product line, not personal.

Learn more about the money-making potential of an item page.

  2. What if I just want to "Sell an Item", not "Submit a Page?"

    1. To sell an item:
    2. 1) Make sure the product has a page in the Wigix catalog. (If if doesn't already exist, the fastest way to get the item into our catalog is for you to go through the "submit and sell" tool. You will also make extra money by sharing revenues generated from the item page!)
    3. 2) Add it to your Portfolio. This will indicate that you own the product and you can personalize it with owner-specific information, such as "condition" and "color".
    4. 3) Place a "sell order". This will indicate that you are willing to sell the item, and you can note an asking price, as well as shipping details.
    5. You go through all three of these steps in the "Sell an item" button.
  3. How do I submit an item?

    1. Click on the "Submit an Item" icon on the upper right corner. Drill down the category tree to locate your new item page's appropriate subcategory. You will be presented with a form where you fill in required information about the product.
    2. If the subcategory is grayed-out, that means the category is not yet ready to include items. You can Contact Wigix and request to activate the category or Apply to be a Category Expert and help us set up the category.
  4. Can I submit a user manual?

    1. Yes, you can! First search for the product, then click on the "Add a manual" button (located in the User Manuals section) . Fill out the necessary information and upload your manual. Please note that only PDFs will be accepted.
    2. Can't find your item? Click here to submit the product page to the Wigix catalog. You can submit the user manual along with your item submission. Once your page has been approved you can earn 5% of that item's revenue (ad revenue and transaction fees).
  5. What is a Quicklist Category?

    1. A Quicklist category is a category where you are simultaneously submitting an item to the Wigix catalog and also listing it for sale. Upon approval of the item submission, you may be asked to provide additional details about the item.
  6. What are the criteria for approval of an item submission?

    1. 1) Make sure the item you are submitting does not already exist in the catalog. Do a quick search for the item. Wigix includes a unique product only ONCE in the catalog.
    2. 2) Make sure you select the appropriate category.
    3. 3) Fill in all the required attributes with the researched, correct information. For those attributes which give you the option to check "Unknown" or "Not Applicable", make sure you try to search for the information before using it.
    4. 4) Product descriptions are generic and non-personal. Exclude words such as "I" or "my". Exclude information related to shipment, condition, and warranty.
    5. 5) Use professional images. Avoid personal backgrounds and watermarks. The dimensions of the picture should have a width between 200 to 600 pixels. Images smaller than 200x200 or larger than 600x600 will not get approved. The product should be properly centered, without an excess of blank space.
  7. What if I cannot find the information for a required attribute when submitting an item, such as Original MSRP?

    1. Wigix encourages users to research when submitting an item page. If, after exhausted research, the information is unattainable, you may use the "Unknown" or "Not Applicable" options.
    2. Original MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) may be hard to find for some old items. In that case, the highest or the earliest retail price available on the Internet can be used. For an item that was originally distributed as a gift and only sold for a price later in the aftermarket, the Original MSRP can be put as "0".
  8. How long does it take for an item submission to be approved?

    1. It usually takes up to three (3) working days after submission to receive a decision.
  9. Can I edit my item submission after placing it for approval?

    1. Yes. You may edit a submission by going to the My Wigix > Contributions. Once approved, you can still change the details by clicking on "Edit this page" (in the right-hand side toolbox of an Item Detail Page).
  10. What is a "Conditional Approval"?

    1. The following situations will result in conditional approvals:
    2. 1) The image you submitted was incorrect, of poor quality or had a watermark.
    3. 2) The item description needs revision.
    4. 3) The price needs revision.
    5. 4) The attributes need revision.
    6. 5) The item belongs to a different category.
    7. Upon notification, you will be given three (3) more days to modify the submitted item. If you fail to do so, or if your item fails to pass review after two conditional approvals, the item will be rejected.
  11. Why was my item submission rejected?

    1. There are several conditions which warrant a rejection:
    2. 1) The item is already listed in the catalog.
    3. 2) It contains incorrect or irrelevant information.
    4. 3) It contains inappropriate language or imagery.
    5. 4) It is submitted under the wrong category.
  12. What if I disagree with a Conditional Approval or Rejection decision?

    1. If there is a Category Expert for the category in question, please contact that person. Otherwise, contact the Wigix Catalog Support team by private message (Username: WigixCatalog).
  13. What if somebody submitted a same item as I did?

    1. Wigix and Category Experts review item page submissions on a first come first served basis.
  14. What if I disagree with a product page that is owned by another user?

    1. Click on the "Edit this page" link on the item detail page and submit your modifications. Once approved, the item detail will be updated. However, this will not render you as the new page owner.
  15. Why is my ownership of the page taken back by Wigix or transferred to another owner?

    1. There may be rare circumstances when an item submission is wrongly approved (e.g., a same item has already existed in the catalog but was not detected when your submission was approved). In these cases, we will need to remove the duplicated item page which was submitted later than the other one.
    2. In other occasions, an item may be approved but later found to be missing required information or needing further refinement. The Category Expert or Wigix, will give you five (5) days to improve it. Otherwise your item may be opened to the public for improvement ("marked for perfection"), and the ownership will be transferred to the user who improves the item details.
    3. If your submission contains content that are copyrighted and not in the public domain, we will need to pull it down to prevent legal disputes.
