Hello All,

If you are leery about making a purchase on Wigix from a new seller without any feedback, Wigix.com does fully support transactions conducted through Escrow.com to ensure safety.

Please use this link to access Escrow.com: https://www.escrow.com/index.asp?PID=5543

How do I perform an Escrow?

What is an Escrow Service?

An escrow service is a licensed business that receives, holds, and sends a buyer's money to a seller according to instructions agreed on by both parties. Once the buyer receives and approves the item from the seller, the escrow service then sends the payment to the seller.
Escrow is available for any purchase, but is recommended for purchases of $500 or more.
Please only use http://www.escrow.com.

How Does Escrow Work?

1. Buyer and seller agree to terms and decide to use http://www.escrow.com.
2. Buyer pays http://www.escrow.com.
3. Seller ships the merchandise and http://www.escrow.com tracks the shipment.
4. Buyer confirms the receipt and approval of the merchandise.
5. http://www.escrow.com pays the seller.
Why use Escrow?
Escrow.com reduces the potential risk of fraud by acting as a trusted member third party that collects, holds and disburses funds according to Buyer and Seller instructions.

When to use Escrow?

Escrow is well-suited for items such as automobiles, motorcycles, jewelry, specialized computer equipment, and other high-ticket items. For example, if you are interested in buying a brand new laptop from a new seller on Wigix and do not feel secure with sending money to them, this is a great opportunity to involve Escrow.com

Caution:

If you are a buyer or a seller and choose to pay or be paid through an escrow service, you should only use Escrow.com (http://www.escrow.com).
There are a lot of fraudulent escrow services, so please use caution if a seller suggests using a service other than http://www.escrow.com. If the other party insists that you use a specific escrow service and will not accept http://www.escrow.com as an alternative, please decline the transaction and send an email to customerservice@wigix.com.

Always sign in to http://www.escrow.com to verify information you have received via email to avoid being deceived by fraudulent emails. Make sure you type the entire address (http://www.escrow.com). Do not let the browser auto-fill the URL.

If you're a seller, be cautious about buyers claiming to have paid for an item through an escrow service other than http://www.escrow.com.
There are fees associated with using an escrow. Buyers and sellers should agree before the close of a transaction how the fees will be paid. Escrow.com (http://www.escrow.com) publishes their fee schedule, along with their accepted methods of payment on their Web site (http://www.escrow.com).

This site does serve a good purpose but the commission is too high. I am trying to buy a wii, i don't know if this is allowed

Let's say i am interest in a wii for 150 and some1 is willing to sell it for that price.
Through Escrow 150 would be a $25 commission.
I am suggesting the seller to name the price for 162.5
and the escrow fee($25) would be split between the seller and the buyer.

in this situation the if the buyer is fraudulent he would lose $12.5
if the seller is fraudulent he would also lose 12.5

This will prevent the seller/buy of paying $25 while the fraudulent buyer/seller pays nothing

I sell jewelry as well as many other items and will still not use escrow. Even in escrow there is still the chance for fraud. The money may be safe but the Diamonds are not. Many times a Seller will send the diamond off just to get a fake back and when the buyer says no thanks they get their money back and in most cases have switched the diamonds.

When I sell a piece of Fine Jewelry I do offer a buyers remorse clause or refund, only after it has been reinspected to ensure that it came back the same as it shipped out. I only speak for myself when I say that all offers that I have recieved to use Escrow have come from other countries (mostly the UK).

Don't get me wrong, I have never used escrow so I suppose that you could work it to your advantage by stating that the money stay in escrow until the Diamonds or High priced item is certified as genuine and the same as sent.

question on the above mention: Does anyone know if it works this way?

I never have really trusted escrow because there are so many escrow services that are ran by scammers themselves. Thanks for showing that there are a few legitimate ways to use the service.

To repeat what is said in Wigix's "How to protect yourself from Fraud" article:

The ONLY escrow service you should be using is Escrow.com.
