Hey Guys !

Any idea as to what's happening with the once powerful 'Search Tool' ?

It's acting really crazy or I have forgotten how to use it ?

There's a new option 'Check Box' added newly too, along the side of 'Categories' on the left.

Could be for good, but can someone tell me how to search for a product with it's 'Model #' or 'Part #' ?? I am just unable to do it as it fetches me as 'zero result'.

Thank you !

Simran

The problem is in the Complete the Page section Bob

It was doing the same thing yesterday morning.
I sent in a Bug Report and later that day it started working.
Now it is doing the same thing.

search anything and you get zero results back

yah sure !

It's basically is that, you type-in any product's, 'Item #' or 'Model #' (ex : TEW 421PC) in the search bar and the results that are fetched are 'Zero Items Found'.

And when you type-in any specific name (ex : wireless) then it fetches it properly, but only lists all the products in the page 'Without' .....I repeat.....'WITHOUT' the "Submit the Page' or "Report as duplicate" buttons.

This issue occurs either you login and search or search without logging-in !

Regards,

Simran

I had also reported the fact that you could not search in the "complete this item" search. I've also got some items in my contributions, that instead of having a title have N/A. Don't know if it is related.

I'm still seeing lots of strange behavior with the search and browse functions.

As an example, I have an item http://www.wigix.com/index.php/item/index/2822236, which clearly shows the category All Categories > Collectibles > Historical Memorabilia > Political, US

If you search for Obama Bobble-head, the item shows up as a suggested search, but returns zero results if you just search those terms. It does find one uncategorized, which is actually this item.

If you try to browse through categories, and go from all to collectibles, to historical memorabilia, it returns 6 items listed, but not this one. Only when you click the uncategorized, does it show up.

Once an item is completed, it should no longer be under the uncategorized, right?

On a side note, one of my categories doesn't even show up in a browse. If you browse all -> collectibles, "comics" shows up in the "more categories coming" listing, despite there being dozens of items in that category already.

Just a quick note, I have found that Firefox is the best browser to use with this site. IE 8 returns errors on the page and some listings come back blank with only the page header and left and right columns showing. I tried to catch a snapshot of the the page but IE8 would not save it to my computer.
